At its heart, this article was created to promote the new Mary Poppins movie. It does this by having an interview with Emily Blunt (who plays Poppins in the movie) and showing images from a photoshoot with her and her costar, Lin Manuel Miranda.

When one thinks about winter fashion trends, they probably don't think about Mary Poppins as a style icon. However, it seems that Vogue has associated the beloved movie and its sequel with products. This connection between culture and fashion ultimately benefits both groups and re-affirms the beauty myth.

In the third paragraph of the article, the author makes a point to talk about Blunt's appearance during the interview when she is introduced, suggesting that her appearance says a lot about her as an actor and as a person. This reinforces the power that women find in how they appear.

Somehow, even in an article about Mary Poppins, Vouge finds a way to sexualize Blunt. The pose in this photograph reinforces the idea that women look best when they are sexy.

This whimsical aspect of the Mary Poppins character is associated with high fashion clothing in this image. It is both selling the movie and the clothing as it is supporting the notion that clothing is the most important way for women to identify themselves.
